Finance Work Session Meeting on Oct. 5
City officials announced last week that there will be a special finance meeting on Monday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. This meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in City Hall.
Officials said that the purpose of the meeting to discuss the upcoming 2010 budget amd examine the current cash flow.
In addition, City Manager Harry Walker plans to recommend to City Council that $1.5 million be withdrawn from the reserve trust fund and put into the general fund. As residents of the City of Coatesville, do you think this recommendation is a good idea?

I'm shocked that this blog has a new post. About damn time.
Should anyone really be surprised that City Hall is asking for more money from the Trust to pay bills?? I mean this is exactly what he did a little more then a year ago (but didn't tell anyone) then boasted that the City of Coatesville had a balanced budget. What a joke. If this was a business the City mgr would of been fired by now but as the story goes 'it must be Coatesville'.
I am disappointed that in these days and times, the city does not suggest something else to cut the budget. Instead of layoffs, and taking money out of the trust fund AGAIN, why doesn't the council, including Harry, take a pay cut or even donate a week of work to bring the finances back under control?
The council not answering calls and hanging up when they do is not a surprise. They cry dumb when faced with something that they were MAILED information about, and say they never got any mail. They dont return calls, and make themselves inaccessable to the areas they represent.
