Big changes in city administration
At Monday's reorganization meeting, the new City Council made two major decisions.
First, council removed Andrew Lehr as city solicitor. Second, council placed City Manager Harry Walker on administrative leave.
Councilwoman Karen Jorgenson and newly-elected Councilman Jarrell Brazzle were the only two who voted against these measures.
Do you think these decisions are a step in the right direction for the city?

Great News! Now just get rid of a couple more deadbeats and things will have to change for the better!
Glad to see the majority of council voted together, (except for Walker supporters).
Good move Council! Especially letting Lehr go.Good riddance. As for Walker, perhaps he should remain in "charge" under Council's strict control until a new City Manager is found and then put on leave. Remember what the Block did when they came into office. They let Council and the Staff wander aimlessly for several months with no administrative guidance.
Council you are on your way to turning Coatesville around. GO! GO! GO!
seems like maneuvering to eliminate possible (anticipated) dissent - but why want a council or any leadership that doesn't represent a variety of viewpoints? Aren't they supposed to work together to compromise rather than rubber stamp? Seems a little rash... will be interesting to see how the voting goes and what issues are actually addressed and result in change. Unfortunately, it will probably be more of the same.
Kudos to the new city council! These are actions that most citizens have hoped for and it's amazing that it is a reality. Change is in the air. Good things are coming.
GREAT MOVE
Now just get rid of Patsy Ray and the city may be going places!!!
To Great Move:
Patsy Ray is no longer on Council.
Where have you been?
The problem is this "to many indianns and not enough cheifs to do the job right.I am glad to see they let the deadbeat go finally he won't be holding coatesville down anymore....We need people with their heads on their shoulders that want and will do good for our city...I have to add i am proud to say our police department is the best....
Also a thanks to the police dept. for all that they are doing.
Now on to getting rid of some more. Don't we need a grant writer more than a public relations person? Not for some more recreational programs, I want to see money dedicated to helping "TAX PAYERS" such as the seniors who have paid to keep this town running for many years.
In the 60's we played in old cardboard boxes. We turned out just fine. Caln township financed sidewalk renovations through grant money I think. Is this possible in the 'ville as well?
Seems change is finally here. I welcome it completely. Great start council. Thanks again!
I am not sure if this is a good move or not because I have not involved myself enough to know. I do know that it is so much easier to be the critic than the one in charge. It isnt always that easy. I AM interested in seeing what happens next. If the city budget and daily situation is the same than they should have left Mr Walker in position, if not, and the budget and the city seems to be on the incline, then it was for the best. I think it is time to pay attention.
