Going once, going twice ....

Coatesville officials have announced the city will hold a public auction to sell 16 city-owned properties at 1 p.m. on May 30 at city hall.

A list of properties and other info about the auction can be found here.

Glad to see that they are finally selling these properties, it's WAY overdue. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they bought some of them, I think the money could have been better spent. Let's hope someone doesn't buy them and just let them sit for a couple of years. Now if we could just get the hope IV program to sell some of the shacks that they have sitting vacant it would really help to get rid of the eyesores!

The auction brochure calls this stuff "prime real estate".

Yeah, right.

The sale needs to be done, I guess, but it's not going to accomplish much even if all the stuff is sold.
