Reminder
City Council will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday to discuss the proposed 2009 budget and possibly vote on it. It will follow the Redevelopment Authority meeting.

I hope they turn the budget down and make Walker actually come up with something legit. He has been using the sale of properties for 2 years to balance the budget. As we all know it hasn't happened. When does he get called on the carpet for his mismanagement? Do we have to wait until 2010 when hopefully many of the council will be replaced to put him on notice that 'if it ain't broke don't fix song and dance' just doesn't cut it anymore? It's amazing that council doesn't go after him for this but of course since they put him in office I'm not surprised.
Jen - just keep reporting and asking the questions 5 different ways until something gives us an answer. Tired of paying 2.5 of my salary to watch it be mismanaged. Seems the only thing that works around here is the street sweeper.
You should go to this meeting if you can, you will see that Ed Simpson is the only one that is really on Walker's behind and asks him questions that he can't answer or doesn't want to answer. Marty doesn't like the budget either but he doesn't ask the tough questions like Ed does. They have to make some serious changes like the consulting company suggested ASAP, not later.
Should be an interesting meeting!
