Not many good choices. It's time to bail out of Coatesville.
what are you talking about...there are a number of good choices. Joe Disculio, Eric Lacert, Fran Scherring. What about you big mouth. Put up or shut up.
Hey guys there are choices on both sides not simply the Republican side.
Will their be a forum for us to get to know these folks or will it just be word of mouth. I sure hope some of them knock on my door some night. I would love to meet them and learn their ideas. That way when the time comes I can make an educated decision when I vote.
Well I hope there is forum. I also hope that the DLN gets some more information about them. I don't know what ward you're in. I'm in the 4th and hope to meet the people running as well.
I'm in Marty's ward so i will be voting for the at large canidates. I'm live on the hill over looking the city so i highly doubt many of the canidates will make the walk up.
I am really concerned about the direction of the city is heading right now. I am also a bit concerned about who gets the spots on November's ballot and consequently who gets elected. Now that the presidential election is over we will be back to pathetic voter turn out. that means a us few people get to decide the direction we go from here.
It is imparitive that we vote and get the right/best/most qualified/educated/etc. canidates on the ballot.
my bff was thrown out be his ma, angela christin. now she run for valley? he was only 16. all for his step dad.
don't vote 4 her
is that english?
I heard that also. But it was two of her kids, not just the one. I went to school with the one, who had to quit because he could not go to school and work full time to pay for his baby and rent. I miss him chillin with us like he used to. How do someone throw out their kids and then run for city office?
I work with Angela, and I don't appreciate what you have said. She is a hard worker, and has experience to do the job.
You don't know why she did what she did, so knock it off. It was not an easy decision for her, but it had to be done.
It seems like there are quite a few choices that are BETTER than what we have had in the past.
Push some of those that have registered during the presidential election push to turn out and vote for BETTER choices this time. Take some of the registered elderly voters to the polls. Talk to some of the young bucks. Vote for the best candidate, not their skin color. We still have the opportunity for change. It starts on the local level folks.
Are you allowed to run for city council if you have warrants for your arrest?
When can we get rid of Walker?
The only way you can get rid of Walker is to have the majority of the council (4 members or more) recommend his termination or if he resigns.
Hopefully that will be on the agenda for the new council, as well as the many other things that are burdening Coatesville.
Angel can sell her sex toys at vally council meetings
This is proof that you need to get rid of council and go back to a Mayor. Also, big changes in leadership are coming shortly. Help is on the way.
I have lived by Angel and worked with her she is very nice person what she sells in her spare time to make extra money is none of your business. You need to clean your own door step.I am sure you have some skeletons in your closet.
I know Angel's story from the inside. She is a wonderful mother (despite prior comments) and a very hard worker. She has a wonderful bright and cheery spirit. Valley would be very lucky to have her.
Vote Angela Christen for Valley Township Supervisor.
okay, I am baffled. She throws her two teenage sons out, but has good reasons and is a good mother?
I don't know or want to know this woman, but those are two very conflicting statements..
As far as skeletons in anyone's closet, if you want to run for a public position, that's all fair game.
I concur with the previous comment. There is no reason to throw your school age children out. Why would I, a voter of Valley, want someone in office that does not want to take care of her kids? What kind of future will they have while she is running around doing everything else but making sure they have a good future?
She also "protects" them from thier legal problems by "knowing" the police chief. Not a responsible person in my books.
This is not a candidate I would like to see in this position.
The way I understand it they were both school age. One was 19 and the other was 16 but had quite school against her advice and was working full time. I was also told they were thrown out, they refused to follow house rules because the felt they were adults so the choice was follow the rules or get your own for the 19 year old. The 16 year old who was a couple of months from being 17 and more than 6 foot chose to go with him against her advice.
She helped them find a place to live and help them set up house. They do not live in Valley so becoming a supervisor wouldn't help them, beside if she didn't allow them to be a problem at home what makes you think she would protect if they broke the law.
They both now have families of there own and are doing well. They both speak very highly of her and harbor no hard feelings for her now that they have matured some and see the whole thing through a parents eyes. I also heard they are helping her with her campaign. I guess there is some validity to that whole tough love thing.
I do know that even though she made sure they were in there own place and supported them when they needed it the whole thing tore her up at the time.
Now that time has passed she seems to enjoy a healthy relationship with her boys and very much enjoys being a grandmother.
OK, time to vomit!
That was quite a speech. I saw the Daily Local Headlines today with her oldest son's live in girlfriend's brother (who stayed with them) being charged with more robberies. The other child, younger one, quit school only AFTER he was forced to move out and had to work full time.
She does love her children, but in chosing the path she did with her children, she certainly chose the wrong one, and for the wrong reasons. The truth be told, her boyfriend threw them out. No they would not listen to their uncle (yes, their mother is with their biological uncle)(the boy's father's brother).
Tough love is not "helping them set up a home". It is forcing them to be on there own, with their own consequences. Thank God there are other family members to take up the slack where she left off.
Let the truth be told...Please end this madness and stop posting all the pleasantries about her. The face you see is only the one she decides to put on in the morning.

Okay, I am really tired of all this bashing going on here. This woman, despite problems and life issues, is trying to make a difference in her community.
Angel is my sister in law, and I am proud that she feels she can take the bull by the horns and make a positive difference in Valley Township.
She may very well be able to do a good job if given the chance. That's all she wants is the chance, and it isn't a lot to ask.
BTW, What's with all these annonymous posters? Scared to show your names???
This IS Angels oldest son, and first off,she did put us out of her house, but thats only because me and blaze skipped school everyday, never did anything for her, and loved to meke her cry, i regret doing all that to her, and thats only because she put me out on my own, she made me grow up, and its not like she put our things out and said leave, she found us a home, got us a deal on it, and stills buys me groceries every week, we wanted out of her house, and couldnt have been more exited bout not having rules, and shes dating my dads half brother, and her and my dad have been apart for 12 years b4 she got with who shes with, my dad ran to her cousin 6 months after they split, and besides, that has no relevance to anything pertaining to this blog, leadership isnt determined by your social life, me and my brother wouldnt b who we are if she didnt make us live on our own, ive matured so much in the last year and i owe it all to my mother, and her boyfriend didnt throw us out, he had no part of it, so learn the facts before you try to run your mouth publicly, and its obvious that you really have no clue what your talking about, cuz if you really stood by your words and opinions then you wouldnt be anonymous, my mother is a great women and would be perfect for the position, and dogging her because she made a tough choice is trivial and childish, we left her no choice, and it only shows thats shes willing to make sacrifices for a greater good, that is a good leader and a good person, and this is coming from HER child, one of the two being talked about in previous entries, and my brother is right next to me, were happy that she did what she did, and we dont fault her at all, we left her no choice, and if you knew our whole life story, you'd be giving my mom a badge of honor and a purple heart, i could never thank my mom enough or ever do anything to repay her for what shes done for me or my brother, we both love her a lot and dont fault her in any way for anything, we did it to ourselves, honestly im shocked that shes still as involved with our lives now as she was the days that we were born, no one can take that away, even if she doesnt get the position, im proud to say shes my mother and i couldnt be happier for her, she deserves this and so much more, its a shame that people have nothing else better to do with their time then bash the good people in the world, i think its time for you to grow up
Oh and BTW, Blaze was told not to leave my moms house until he was done school and he laughed in her face, So that whole thing about the 16 yr old she threw out, is complete BS, Ask him yourself, He'll tell you, unless of course you know that your "All up in the Kool-aid and don't know the flavor." And yes, my mom does own a discreet treasures buisness, at least shes successful and has other ways to spend her time rather then sitting at a computer all day trying to start a good gossip story.
ok, so the kid cannot spell or use grammar correctly. I am so impressed! Discreet treasures? There is nothing discreet about it.
I'm looking forward to some changes in Valley, having had a three year fight with them over my property and seen how they work.
When you have them make a comment like, Once we have made a decision we do not change it - Even when it is blatently a wrong decision.
Facts where maniplulated about the location of the sewer, Lies told about my attendance at meetings and when finally it was agreed that we would all abide by an independent road study, Johnson and Hammond vote against its findings - Some ethics.
You have Chris Lehenki, who is trying against the old guard to make changes.
Patrice Proctor, who is a good person and works for what she believes in.
Johnson and Hammond should go, even if they are not up for re-election
The comments made regarding Valley Township changes where put in Anonymus in error - Never been one not to stand by my opinion,
Wow I am speechless to see such judgment placed upon Angel. Maybe some of these people are a little jealous they don’t have some novelty toys maybe you can hand some out to the uptight. And I guess they all never had a rough patch in their lives. People do rise above there imperfections. It’s called the walk of life, you live and you learn. Oh they must not have lives if they worry about Angels and how her parenting skills are. Being a single mom is not easy. Especially raising three boys.
By what is put in the paper. Is Angel's son's in with that Michael Frame that has been robbing places since they hang out together.
mmmm I do not recall seeing anything in the paper with Michael Frame or Angel's son robbing. Her son is above 18 now, right?
Mike and twigs only stayed there to help pay rent. good thing his ma knew, and could tip them off when friel called her about it. his family looks out for him.
mik frame was the hed of it, and bj didn't participate, but he knew what they were doing, so did eveyone in his home, he is lucky to have his mom, if she didnt have connects hed be locked up as an accessory

this is angela's family. it is her son's apartment. fun, fun, fun
That url does not come up. I have not seen anything in the paper that has angela's son.Wouldn't he be in jail too?
It was angelas son and his g/fs apt. There were a lot of posts about things on the evan tonnesen article from all of them about drugs... what goofballs...the whole bunch.
the reason they are free today is cause they snitched out the two others who were involved, setting them up.
warning, keep kids away from desimons apartments on 5th and lincon. he condones this stuff.
search for the name on the main local page. its good reading!
